Deputy PM returns to Qatar

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Ahmed bin Abdullah al Mahmoud on Thursday returned to Qatar from Azerbaijan after leading Qatar's delegation to the 7th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). The deputy premier was seen off at Heydar Aliyev by Ambassador of Qatar to Azerbaijan HE Sayar bin Abdulrahman al Mauda and a number of officials from Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. FM sends message to

NATO secretary-general

Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Thani on Thursday sent a written message to NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg. The message was delivered by Qatar's Ambassador to Belgium, the European Union and NATO HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim al Thani during a meeting with the NATO secretary-general. They reviewed developments in the Middle East as well as the issues of terrorism and immigration and their impact on regional and global security. The envoy stressed Qatar's keenness on promoting its relations with the NATO and other global organisations stemming from its belief in the importance of unifying efforts between the different spectra of the international community to maintain stability at the regional and international levels. Attiyah meets US Naval official

Minister of State for Defence Affairs HE Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al Attiyah met with Commander of the US Naval Forces Central Command and the US 5th Fleet Vice Admiral Kevin Donegan in Doha on Thursday. During the meeting, they exchanged views on issues of common interest and discussed military cooperation between Qatar and the United States. The meeting was attended by a number of senior armed forces officers. (QNA)
