Foreign Minister of Sudan Professor Ibrahim Ghandour has underlined the distinguished relations between Qatar and Sudan, stressing that Qatar is a key partner in the peace process in Sudan in addition to its significant role in the development of his country.

Sudanese Foreign Minister told Qatari Alarab Newspaper published Sunday that Qatar and Sudan are enjoying an excellent relationship, adding that Qatar played a great role in the development in Sudan, especially in Darfur. The biggest Sudan's problem in Darfur was solved by Doha Peace Agreement in Darfur which is now completed by Darfur Referendum, he said.

He added that Doha will host a meeting for the rest of Darfur movements, that have not joined the peace agreement, to persuade them to join the Doha agreement signed in 2006, pointing out that HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud called some of the parties who did not sign the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) for a meeting, in order to convince them to join the peace agreement and sign the road-map agreement backed by the African Union.
